Done and over....

Finally the contract at Whar* has ended after 3 months.

The outlet got cover charge of RM30 per person with 1 free drinks. They have lucky draws with a grand prize of RM1000 worth of travel voucher.

We started as usual at 10pm. By 11:15pm, more people started to come in the outlet. We did some retro songs, and 10 minutes before the Merdeka countdown, we stopped to have a short break before we go up on stage again for the countdown.

5 minutes before 12 midnight, B'Tru Band standby and getting ready for Merdeka countdown. We were all busy unpacking our party packs, and blowing the party horns when suddenly, without warning, the DJ start counting from 10, 9, 8..... to 1.

What the h***.

None of the guests were alert when he did the counting.
None of the guests scream or make noise.
None of the guests screamed MERDEKA!
What a night! It happens only once a year, and none of them knows that the minute of 12 midnight passed without warning!!! HAHAHA....

So show must go on (even though the countdown was really really stu*** cos the DJ was busy looking for booze!), we sang Tanggal 31 and we stopped again for another break.

After 30 minutes break, we started with a game to give out some prizes to the guests. Seri requested James to do the SPELLING CONTEST. She said it's her favourite. So we did that. Took 3 volunteers, asked them to spell. They did it easily, but we wouldn't give the prizes if its just an easy spelling game... nope. The game is not to spell with your mouth. Instead, you have to spell using your backside.... It was funny. Seri was laughing until she dropped on the floor. Nasib baik lar ko tak guling-guling atas lantai tu!

Then the 45 minutes set went well. Played R&B songs for the party.

Then came the last set. We started at 2am. Started with a Rock n' Roll song and some R&B songs. Before we ending the night, the management requested the next band replacing us to perform. They sang 2 songs.

And finally the moment we've been waiting for has finally came to an end. We ended our night at the outlet at 2:45am, packed up our things and left at 3am.

B'Tru Band will be singing at Golden Gate Pub & Restaurant in Puchong United Club starting September 1, 2008.

The band would be back to original 4 piece sequencer instead of 6 piece. The remaining B'Tru Band members from September 1, 2008 will be James, Nina, Seri and Andy.

Merdeka 2008

Tomorrow Malaysia will be celebrating Independence Day.

51 years of Independence.

and tomorrow, 31st August 2008, B'Tru Band will be celebrating Merdeka from The Wharf, Armada Hotel PJ.

We have finally completed our 3 months contract at Wharf.

B'Tru Band has been working in lots of clubs and lounges around KL and PJ for the past 10 years, and to be honest, the management in Wharf Armada Hotel is the fussiest among all the other pub/club/lounge management we've worked before. Usually we feel sad to leave the place we worked when we finish the contract, but at Wharf, we just can't wait to end the contract.

From day 1 we worked in Wharf, the management has started complaining about our band and it was just all because of how we dressed up. We started our 1st day wearing black and white. What we wore the 1st night is very presentable and nice to look at and as usual we girls were totally covered, and the manager didn't agree with us! Then we found out that the band in the other outlet are wearing 2 piece very skimpy short shorts/skirts and top that looked like a bikini/bra. Yes, they are young and sexy but they're Filipinos and they can't sing!

To us, the B'Tru Band showed only quality singing. We sing quality undying songs, then did some choreograph and finally wear uniforms that are nice to look at! We are all real musicians. We show to people that we really sing and play instrument.

We don't need to show our body to gain popularity.

There are a few more other stupid complaints from the management but i don't think i wanted to post it in the blog because there's no use of doing post-mortem.

Enough said, we're just so happy to leave Wharf and throw the memories away! We just can't wait for another day to be Merdeka from the Wharf.... :P

What we know is, we're looking forward to work at Puchong United Club. A new place, a new chapter!
